The Department of Defense has a mission to field systems at the “speed of operations” while ensuring cybersecurity requirements are met. Existing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes are often not considered until the application is ready to deploy, delaying and disrupting timely delivery of today’s technology to the warfighter.
What is CSAR?
Cybersecurity Assurance Readiness (CSAR) couples Risk Management Framework (RMF) and (A&A) activities with future leaning DevSecOps practices early in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). CSAR integrates with MOTAR (Dynepic’s immersive training platform) enabling developers to make smart, timely cyber decisions and allowing applications to be adaptive and keep pace with cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.

How CSAR Works
CSAR lowers the barrier to entry for Extended Reality (XR) software developers, enabling security at the speed of innovation in the Lightweight Simulator Ecosystem (LSE). Baseline security controls are identified, threats are assessed, and risk is reviewed. Based on the maturity of the solution CSAR will provide customized suggestions that guide developers towards a more expedient ATO process.

One Dashboard allows users to track the status of multiple applications and obtain Cyber Plans and Playbooks.
This allows for the understanding of cybersecurity and privacy risk, mitigation strategies, reports on custom threats and vulnerabilities, and provides a completed ATO application package.

A human-in-the-loop “checkpoint” is presented multiple times during each Assessment Level.
Our expert support team reviews applications for accuracy, provides feedback, and guides the user forward to a mature cyber environment and a successful ATO.
